Mashteuiatsh, an ancestral meeting place for the First Nations of Quebec, created in 1856 on the shores of the Pekuakami (Lake St-John / Lac Saint-Jean). The Pekuakamiulnuatsh are the first people to occupate this vast territory. Mashteuiatsh is the only Indian community in the region and offers a breathtaking view of the Pekuakami, a majestic inland sea. Come and visit the Ilnu Welcome Center, where our tourist information employees will be happy to answer your questions and take a moment to visit our interpretation site.
